Assuring Business Continuity to the Cloud

The Q-Balancer is designed to solve the challenges to network continuity, which can be link bottlenecks or line failures or inefficient bandwidth utilization or any sort of network disruption. The following are the typical applications where the Q-Balancer assures business continuity to the cloud.

WAN Failover

In the event that one of your links fails, all new traffic will be routed down the remaining active links. Most applications (especially TCP based) will attempt to retransmit the packet of data, thus the Q-Balancer will send again down an active link. The internal hosts will not even notice the line failure.

WAN Load Balancing

The Q-Balancer intelligently distributes traffic on demands. A variety of algorithms provided by the Q-Balancer will find the most active and the fastest link so as to optimize the utilization of bandwidth. Enterprises benefit from faster connectivity performance as the best performing and least-loaded link is selected when a request comes up. 

Inbound Load Balancing (Multihoming)

The Q-Balancer guarantees the connectivity of the requests from Internet users accessing the internal resources, like Web and FTP, by making the services accessible through all available links.

VPN Failover and Bonding

The XBOND (Bandwidth Bonding Technology) of Q-Balancer is designed for site-to-site VPN networks. The XBOND supports VPN failover and load balancing for Site-to-Site networks, and is fully compatible with existing VPN solution. The ability of VPN failover automatically re-routes VPN traffic down the remaining active Internet connections in the event of an Internet connection fails in site-to-site network. This provides the continuous VPN connectivity. The XBOND also has the ability to maximize the bandwidth capacity by efficiently utilize bandwidth over multiple channels at each location. For XBOND, a high performing Q-Balancer unit is deployed at central site and small units are deployed at branch sites.  

Link Bonding

The XBOND (Bandwidth Bonding Technology) has the ability to combine multiple Internet connections and utilize them as a virtual leased-line to gain the benefit of increased bandwidth for Internet downloads and uploads. For example, combining 3 X 4Mbps of Internet connections would provide 12Mbps of bandwidth by using Q-Balancer's XBOND Technology. The increased bandwidth equals to the sum of the separate connections.

Traffic Shaping 

The Q-Balancer is incorporated the function of application prioritization, where non-critical applications are assigned lower priority to bandwidth and can also be throttled and/or filtered to ensure enough bandwidth is highly available for the critical applications such as email, VoIP and VPN

High Availability (Active/Passive Mode)

All models of the Q-Balancer support High Availability. Deploying an infrastructure of High Availability provides instant automatic device failover in the event of hardware failure on primary device. This is also to reduce the possibility of single point of failure from unpredictable events such as power failure other than WAN failure. The planned downtime will not affect business continuity as each device can work independently from the other.
