The Q-Balancer will perform health checks for each internet connection constantly. In case of a link failure, it automatically re-routes traffic to other healthy link(s), providing continuous Internet service. If Primary WAN fails, the Q-Balancer will fail over to Secondary WAN. The failover of the Q-Balancer eliminates Internet disruption, and maintains highly stable Internet access for the benefit of hotel guests. Hotel guests enjoy better user experience when accessing the Internet.  

Outbound Load Balancing

The Q-Balancer distributes outbound traffic across multiple Internet connections through Outbound Traffic Load Balancing. A variety of algorithms provided by Q-Balancer can be applied to find out the most active and the fastest link so as to optimize the utilization of bandwidth. This means all the guests in the hotel rooms enjoy the fast speed of internet access and absolutely accessible path when surfing on the internet.

Bandwidth Management

For business travelers, the throughput requirement is much more important than leisure travelers in a hotel. Practically, the traffic from VPN, VoIP can be assigned more bandwidth, and should be prioritized; Email, web browsing, and bandwidth-intensive applications can be enforced with smaller bandwidth.

User Management

Q-Balancer supports DHCP Server which automatically assigns IP addresses to guests. Q-Balancer supports local and external authentications. Whenever a browser is opened in hotel, the log-in details are required to access the network, and therefore network administrator accurately pinpoint who, what, and when on internet surfing. The user detail for authentication can be imported to Q-Balancer, and the workload of network administrator can be tremendously minimized.
