Data Duplication &Ā Compression

Data deduplication is a form of compression that eliminates redundant copies of data over the WAN, and reduces storage overhead. Q-Balancer's deduplication ensures that only one, unique instance of data is retained at the requesting site. Redundant data blocks are replaced with a reference to the unique data copy, so only the data that has changed since the previous backup is transmitted.

Data Compression is a process of taking a file or multiple files and making them smaller as they pass through the Wide Area Network. Often the size of data can be drastically reduced by compression techniques which enables to send fewer data packets for a single file transmission. And it makes the time of a single file transmission less as the size of the file gets compressed and reduced.
